Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has confirmed to ESPN that his daughter, 21-year-old Brittany, gave birth to a son, Parker Brett, on Friday.
The 40-year-old future Hall-of-Famer may be the first-ever active NFL player with a grandchild.
Favre released the following statement Tuesday on his Web site:
"Deanna and I are very proud to welcome Parker Brett to the Favre family. Parker Brett was born on Friday, April 2, weighing 7 lbs. 7 oz and we're pleased to say that both Mom, Dad and Parker Brett are healthy and doing great."
Favre has not yet decided whether he is returning to the Vikings for a 20th NFL season.
