EVANSTON, Ill. — No. 16-ranked Northwestern defeated North Dakota State in a nonconference dual Sunday afternoon at the Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The Wildcats posted four major decision victories at the 149, 157, 184 and 197 weight classes. In a matchup between two top-ten-ranked wrestlers, Sebastian Rivera, ranked third, of Northwestern (2-1) defeated seventh-ranked Cam Sykora 7-3 at 133.
The Bison received wins from Sawyer Degen at 141, Andrew Fogarty at 165 and Brandon Metz at 285, all by pins. With the wins, both Fogarty and Metz improve to 8-0 overall, while Degen moves to 6-2.
NDSU (2-2) hosts Augustana at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Scheels Center.
