BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Freshman center Thomas Bryant finished a game-high 23 points to lead No. 19 Indiana to a 74-68 win Saturday afternoon at Assembly Hall.
Minnesota freshman guard Kevin Dorsey scored a career- and game-high 21 points for the Gophers in the loss. Sophomore guard Nate Mason also had 21 for the Gophers.
Trailing by one with 2:18 to play, Dorsey rose from the left wing for a 3-point try which would have given the lead for the Gophers. However, it was off.
Indiana (18-4, 8-1 Big Ten) quickly ran back in transition and capped the fast break with an emphatic dunk by Bryant to give Indiana a 3-point lead with 27 seconds remaining. Guard Yogi Ferrell’s two free throws with eight seconds left sealed it for Indiana.
