Northland Outdoors Forecast: Tracking precipitation chances this weekend

Areas of rain and snow will move through the southern areas of the Northland this weekend.

We are part of The Trust Project.

Temperatures on Friday will be in the 40s and 50s. Areas where the snow fell earlier this week will be cooler like central Minnesota, compared to where snow has melted elsewhere.

Going into Friday night we will see rain and snow move through the southern areas of the Northland, eventually reaching Wisconsin late Saturday morning. Otherwise we will be looking at clouds over the area Saturday afternoon.

Winds this weekend will be a little breezy Saturday afternoon, mostly in areas of eastern North Dakota and central Minnesota. By Sunday winds calm down except for south eastern South Dakota where winds get quite blustery.

Temperatures start in the 20s and 30s Saturday morning, eventually reaching the 40s up north and 50s to the south by the afternoon. Sunday will bring very similar temperatures to the area.

I grew up in Minnesota and my love of the outdoors lead me on a path to becoming in meteorologist. I got my Bachelor of Science in meteorology at St. Cloud State University.
