This large system will be moving through the area slowly on Friday. The moisture looks to circulate around this low leading to many of us dealing with showers and thunderstorms.
Minnesota's fishing opener starts at midnight Friday night. I'm seeing scattered areas of rain spreading over the state and in other areas surrounding the region. It will be a little breezy Friday night as well with an east wind over Minnesota.
The east wind will stick around nearly all day on Saturday for Minnesota. This will lead to a walleye chop on the west side of the lakes. Some of the bigger waters will likely have some decent rollers to contend with when searching for fish.
Check the radar Saturday as showers will still be around. Most of the Dakotas and Minnesota will be dealing with a decent chance of periods of rain showers during the day. There is a chance of a few rumbles, but the shot at scattered thundershowers will mainly stay to southern Minnesota.
With the overcast sky and rain cooled air I'm seeing our highs stay in the 60s for a large chunk of the region. The warmest air will be down in southeastern Minnesota and into Wisconsin.

The sky will slowly start to show more sunshine across northern North Dakota and Minnesota on Mother's Day. Showers will linger over the southeastern part of the state to finish out the weekend. Those areas will likely be a little cooler on Sunday.
Most will see the decrease in cloud cover start on Sunday as this system finally starts to push away from the region. Showers will linger in southern and southeastern Minnesota on Sunday. Rochester, Minnesota looks like most of the precipitation will be gone by very early afternoon Sunday(as I'm writing this). It won't be crazy windy on Sunday, but I am seeing a cooler breeze for some. Winds will be switching form an east wind forecast for Saturday to a northeast wind Sunday. Gusts could hit the upper teens at times.
