BISMARCK, N.D.-On the strength of two winning relay teams, Fargo North's boys swimming team placed third at the North Dakota state meet in Bismarck Saturday.
Payton Gabel, Peyton Fisher, Shaun Mengelkoch and Delton Gabel teamed up to win the 200-freestyle relay. The two Gabels and Mengelkoch teamed up with Coghlan Fisher to win the 400-freestyle relay.
West Fargo Sheyenne, which placed fifth in the team standings, got three first-place finishes. Dillon Stangeland won the 100 butterfly, Zack Bueling won the 100 freestyle and Jacob Smith won the 500 freestyle.
Fargo South, which place sixth in the team standings, got a first-place performance from Luke Bergstrom in the 50 freestyle.
