Omaha hockey team overcomes deficit to edge Fargo Force
The Force led by two goals after one period but Omaha scored three in the second and the game-winner in the third.
OMAHA, Neb. — Down two goals, Omaha stormed back with three unanswered goals and Michael Cameron notched the game-winner midway through the third as the Lancers downed the Fargo Force 4-3 on Saturday at the Ralston Center.
Fargo's Felikss Gavers scored short-handed in the first at 6:44 and Erik Bargholtz scored the first of his two goals at 9:49 of the first. But Omaha's Cameron, Jared Wright and Matt Basgall scored second-period goals to take the lead.
Bargholtz scored his second goal of the game at 5:08 of the third to tie the game, but Cameron scored on the power play at 9:59 and it held up.
Omaha goalie Mason Kucenski stopped 21 of 24 shots while Force goalie turned back 31 shots.
