FARGO — If shots on goal counted for anything, the Fargo Force likely would have defeated Omaha on style points on Friday. But the Lancers got the one shot — for them, literally — that counted in the third period and defeated the Force 1-0 before 3,030 at Scheels Center.
The Force outshot Omaha 55-18 but couldn't get a puck past Lancers goalie Kevin Pasche.
The Lancers had one shot on goal in the third period but it was Michael Cameron's unassisted goal 32 seconds in. Pasche turned back the 23 shots he faced in the period.
Fargo outshot the Lancers 44-9 in the second and third periods. Force goalie Matej Marinov stopped 17 shots.
The Force and Lancers play the second of their two weekend games at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Scheels Center.
