Nick Reinisch was one of the last people to hear he made history.
The West Fargo senior running back rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Packers to a 42-21 home victory against Grand Forks Central in Eastern Dakota Conference football.
The Packers (8-1 overall, 7-0 EDC) capped a perfect conference season with the victory. Reinisch moved into the West Fargo record books, setting a new single-season rushing standard.
Ross Brennan -- who now plays defensive line at the University of North Dakota -- held the old record with 1,120 yards in 1998.
"I guess I just found out right now," said Reinisch, who missed the first game of the season due to injury.
