Injuries forced the Parkers Prairie football team to forfeit its first-round playoff game scheduled for today.
The Panthers (1-7) were slated to travel and play Barnesville (8-0).
"Due to injuries and for the health and safety of our players, we could not justify playing," said Parkers Prairie second-year coach Dirk Schultz. "We did not feel playing would be the right thing to do."
Schultz said Parkers Prairie has a handful of injuries most notably senior quarterback Trey Thompson.
Thompson suffered a concussion on Wednesday.

Forfeiting the game means Barnesville will be credited with a 2-0 victory and advance to the next round where it plays the winner of Pillager-Royalton.
Barnesville football coach Bryan Strand said this is the first time he's ever had a team forfeit their opening round playoff game.
Not playing a game, however, doesn't mean Barnesville will have a day off.
"Our coaches are going to Pillager-Royalton to scout that game," Strand said. "The weather will depend on if our kids go. We are still practicing though. We'll practice at 6:30 a.m. and then for another 45 minutes after school."
