Dan Wood, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive lineman from Pelican Rapids, Minn., will join the North Dakota State football program as a recruited walk-on next season, said Pelican Rapids head coach Dave Haugen.
Wood had 111 tackles last season, with 16 for lost yardage. He was the most valuable defensive lineman in the Heart O' Lakes Conference. He was the Vikings' defensive points leader, which is rare for a down lineman.
"I've never seen that before," Haugen said. "He's got good feet and a nose for the ball. I think they're going to have fun making him bigger."
