Boys hockey: Grand Forks Central's big first period sparks win over West Fargo

Central scored five first-period goals and breezed to a victory over the Packers on Tuesday.

GRAND FORKS — Five Grand Forks Central players scored first-period goals and the Knights rolled to a 7-1 win over West Fargo on Tuesday at Purpur Arena.

Rylan Hoffman, Cale Quamme, Mack Blue, Donovan Balek and Bryce Philpot scored Central's first-period goals. Balek and Dallas Gibbs scored in the second period.

West Fargo's Aiden Sturn scored at 10:52 of the third period on assists from Jaden Narlock and Riley Prochnow.

The Knights outshot the Packers 52-12.
