Boys hockey: Minnetonka shuts out Spuds

The Lakers' Sam Scheetz scored two goals in a win over Moorhead on Saturday.

MINNETONKA, Minn. — Minnetonka pressured Moorhead throughout the game and defeated the Spuds 2-0 on Saturday at the Pagel Ice Arena.

The Lakers outshot the Spuds 41-13. The Lakers got both goals in the same fashion. Sam Scheetz scored at 3:30 of the second period on assists from Ashton Schultz and Alex Lunski. That trio converted Sheetz' second goal at 14:50 of the third period.

Spuds goalie Kai Weigel turned back 39 of those 41 shots.
