FARGO — The No. 6 seed Fargo North Spartans used a strong second half to propel past No. 10 seed Grand Forks Central 76-49 in an East Region tournament elimination game Thursday.
Carter Zeller scored a game-high 21 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead North. Jeremiah Sem added 16 points. The Spartans led just 37-32 at halftime, before Sapana Lujan drilled three 3-pointers to open the second half, stretching the lead.
Alex Barbot’s 20 points paced the Knights. Sam Strandell scored 12, while Mason Gravseth posted 10 points.
North advanced to the state qualifier where it will play No. 5 seed Fargo Shanley at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6.
