FARGO — The Fargo School District is seeking public input regarding inclement weather days and instructional time, and plans to gather the information during the annual State of the Schools address and public focus group event on Thursday, Jan. 14.

Registration for the virtual event ends at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 30. The address is set for 7 p.m. Jan. 14.

The district wants feedback on the use of distance learning to count for instructional time on inclement weather days, and whether the calendar committee should continue to build in-school makeup snow days into the school calendar if distance learning models are approved.

The district also wants to know how the community feels teachers should work to better monitor student learning with either an early dismissal once a month, or a late start to school once a month.

Anyone who registers at https://www.fargo.k12.nd.us/focusgroup will receive information electronically in advance of the event.
