West Fargo 7, 5, Wahpeton 3, 4

WEST FARGO — West Fargo swept Wahpeton on Friday in an Eastern Dakota Conference doubleheader. Game 2 was scored as nonconference.

In Game 1, Jaden Grefsrud went 2 of 3 with two RBIs to lead the Packers. Griffin Staahl finished 1 of 2 with three RBIs.

Peyton Jantzi was 1 for 3 with two RBIs for West Fargo in Game 2. Grefsrud went 2 for 2.

The Packers rose to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the EDC. Wahpeton fell to 6-8 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

WF Sheyenne 11, 6, Devils Lake 3, 0

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — West Fargo Sheyenne cruised to a pair of road victories over Devils Lake in EDC action.

Trey Stocker went 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead the Mustangs in the opener. Cooper Borchardt had a hit and two RBIs. Brennan Haman and Evan Berg each drove in one run.

In Game 2, which was scored nonconference, Tate Gustafson tallied two hits and drove in three runs to lead Sheyenne. Carter Carlson had one RBI and scored two runs. Borchardt knocked in one run.

The Mustangs improved to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the EDC. Devils Lake fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the EDC.

Moorhead 9, Sartell-SS 8

SARTELL, Minn. — Wyatt Tweet doubled in the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning and the Spuds went on to defeat the Sabres on Friday.

Moorhead trailed 8-4 after six innings but scored four runs in the top of the seventh to force extra innings. Zach Taft singled, Tweet doubled and both scored on Jack Teiken’s double to left. One batter later, Carson Zimmel launched a two-run home run to center to tie the game.

In the eighth inning, Aaron Reierson reached on an error and scored from first when Tweet doubled to right field. Reliever Gavin Gast allowed a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth but got a fly ball out to end the game.

Zimmel was a single shy of hitting for the cycle, collecting a triple and double in addition to his homer. He drove in four runs. Teiken had two hits and two RBIs. Reierson and Tweet both had two hits and RBIs and Taft and Brett Letness both had two hits.

Moorhead improved to 4-3 overall.

Fargo Shanley 10, 5, GF Central 1, 0

FARGO — Jordan Leininger and Elias Harris were stellar on the mound as Fargo Shanley swept an EDC doubleheader on Friday.

In the five-inning, nonconference second game, Leininger fired a four-hitter and struck out seven. Tommy Simon and Chase Thorsteinson, who doubled, both had hits and drove in runs. Adam Leininger had the Deacons’ other hit, and Harris and Josh Biver had RBIs.

In Game 1, Harris started and worked six innings, allowing a run on three hits and striking out 14. Beckett Simpson needed just eight pitches to close it out in the seventh.

Shanley’s Adam Leininger had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs. Sam Ovsak, Tommy Simon and Landon Meier all had two hits. Jayden Ouart, Meier and Jordan Leininger all doubled and Leininger and Meier both drove in two runs.

Shanley upped its marks to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the EDC, while GFC dropped to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the EDC.

D-G-F 3, TRF 2

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton scored two runs in the top of the seventh and held on for the win at Thief River Falls on Friday.

TRF led 2-1 after six innings, but the Rebels’ Austin Anderson led off with a single and Payton Aas reached on an error that let Anderson come around to score the tying run. Aas moved up to third on a wild pitch and scored the go-ahead run on Grant Anderson’s line drive double to center.

In the bottom of the seventh, Aas, who relieved starter Landon Johnson in the sixth, set the Prowlers down in order.

Johnson, who allowed two runs on seven hits in five innings, also had two hits. Grant Anderson had two hits and two RBIs and Kolton Wagner doubled. Jordan Simmers, Carson Berreth and Austin Anderson also had hits.

D-G-F improved to 1-2 overall.

Valley City 10, 10, Fargo South 0, 0

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Valley City’s Robert Fischer and Ethan Miller teamed up on a three-inning one-hitter in Game 2 as the Hi-Liners swept South in an EDC doubleheader on Friday.

Fischer allowed only Anthony Erickson’s single and two walks in two innings and Miller needed only seven pitches to close it out in the third and final frame.

In the first game, already leading by five, Valley City scored five more to end the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.

South committed six errors and all 10 Hi-Liners runs were unearned.

South’s Carson Bevill was 2-for-2 and Erickson, Max Kirkeby, Abram Anderson and Ozzie Egan had the Bruins’ other hits.

South fell to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the EDC, while Valley City improved to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the EDC.
