Fargo Shanley, Wahpeton advance to EDC state qualifiers
Fargo Shanley 44, Fargo North 39
FARGO — No. 5 seed Fargo Shanley took down No. 9 seed Fargo North on Friday in an Eastern Dakota Conference play-in game at Scheels Center at Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
Mesiku Hakim paced the Deacons with 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Emily Srejma poured in 10 points with five rebounds and three steals. Maggie Shorma added 10 points with four boards and three steals.
Grace Thiel tallied 12 points and seven rebounds for North. Grace Miller posted a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds, adding three steals. Olivia Hammes poured in nine points.
Shanley (12-10) advanced to a state qualifier where the Deacons will play West Fargo Sheyenne at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at the SHAC. North ended the season at 7-16 overall.
Wahpeton 73, Devils Lake 66
FARGO — Four Wahpeton players scored in double figures and the Huskies defeated the Firebirds in an EDC elimination game at the SHAC.
Wahpeton’s Scout Woods and McKena Koolmo both scored 22 points and Woods narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Aiyana Allard and Lidia Motl both scored 10 points.
Torri Fee led Devils Lake with 26 points and Rachel Dahlen scored 12 points.
No. 7 seed Wahpeton (11-13) plays No. 4 seed West Fargo in a state qualifier at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the SHAC. No. 6 seed Devils Lake finished the season 10-13 overall.
Moorhead 83, STMA 74
MOORHEAD — Moorhead took down St. Michael-Albertville to cap the regular season.
Adam Jenkins led the Spuds with 27 points. Mekhi Elmore followed with 22 points and Dylan Zimmerman scored 13. Colton Hagen poured in 10 points to round out Moorhead's double-digit scorers.
Carson Radke scored a game-high 36 points to lead STMA (6-20).
The Spuds finished the regular season at 14-12 overall.
