Girls basketball: Spuds have rough outing against Elk River

The Elks took a 21-point lead in the first half and coasted to the win on Saturday at Elk River High School.

ELK RIVER, Minn. — Elk River broke out to a 21-point lead by the half and coasted to a 63-21 win over Moorhead on Saturday at Elk River High School.

Kayla Christy led four Elks in double figures with 17 points. Britta Demar scored 11 points and Lilly Osterman and Ella Johnson both scored 10.

Moorhead's Anna Nelson scored seven points.

The Spuds are 1-2 overall and play next against Sartell at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12.
