Girls hockey: Spuds roll to victory over Thief River Falls

MOORHEAD — The Moorhead girls hockey team cruised to a 6-0 victory over Thief River Falls on Thursday at Cullen Hockey Center.

Olivia Dronen scored two goals to pace the Spuds. Elle Lebahn finished with two points by way of a goal and an assist and Lauren Heneman scored her first varsity goal. Taylor Brueske and Bria Holm each found the back of the net, while Maddie Spaeth, Ellie Feeney and Kendel Anderson dished out an assist.

Moorhead finished with a 34-10 advantage in shots on goal. Spuds goalie Kylie Janke stopped all 10 shots for the shutout.

The Class AA Spuds pushed their winning streak to three games, improving to 12-7 overall this season. Over the three-game win streak, Moorhead has outscored opponents 16-3. Thief River Falls dropped to 3-10-2 overall.

Moorhead is slated to play at Section 8AA foe Roseau at 3 p.m. Saturday.
