Girls hockey: Spuds shut out Elk River-Zimmerman

Taylor Brueske scored two power play goals and goalie Taylor Kressin made 15 saves in Moorhead's win over Elk River/Zimmerman on Monday.

MOORHEAD — Four Moorhead skaters scored and goalie Taylor Kressin made 15 saves as the Spuds defeated Elk River/Zimmerman on Monday at the Moorhead Sports Center.

The eventual game-winner came early, with Kate Kosobud scoring at 1:41 of the first period on as assist from Bria Holm. Taylor Brueske scored the first of her two power play goals at 6:06 of the first on an assist from Olivia Dronen.

Ella Holm made to 3-0 with a power play goal at 5:10 of the second period on an assist from Annie Krieg, and Brueske connected again on the man advantage with just three seconds left in the second on an assist from Ella Holm.

Addie Salvevold scored with just four seconds left in the game on an assist from Kosobud.

The Spuds outshot Elk River/Zimmerman 32-15 and were 3 for 7 on the power play.
