Girls soccer: Fargo Shanley edges Grand Forks Red River

GRAND FORKS — Fargo Shanley defeated Grand Forks Red River 1-0 in an Eastern Dakota Conference matchup on Saturday.

Shanley's Hannah Hoedl scored the game's only goal on an assist from Elsa Wambach.

Shanley goalkeeper Paige McAllister made three saves while Red River keeper Eden Parkinson stopped four shots.

Shanley improved to 7-3-1 in the EDC and 7-4-1 overall. Red River is 1-7-3 in the conference and overall.
