Girls swimming: Moorhead earns state True Team berth

The Spuds placed second behind Sartell at the Section 8AA meet Saturday.

BRAINERD, Minn. — Moorhead's swimming and diving team placed second in the Section 8AA girls True Team meet to earn a spot in the state meet next week at the University of Minnesota.

The Spuds finished with 1,024 points. Sartell won with 1,206.5 and Brainerd was third at 988.5.

The Spuds' team of Arianna Hoff, Alayna Janke, Ava Rodgers and Abbie Ishaug won the 400-yard freestyle relay, and the same swimmers placed second in the 200 medley relay.

Hoff won the 200 freestyle and placed second in the 100 freestyle.

Janke placed first in the 100 butterfly and was fifth in the 100 freestyle. Sydney Olson was fourth in the 100 butterfly.


Ishaug placed third in the 100 breaststroke and was fifth in the 200 individual medley,

Rodgers placed second in the 100 backstroke and fourth in the 200 IM. Olivia Roaldson was fourth in the 100 backstroke.
