High school football: Big first half powers West Fargo past Shanley

FARGO — West Fargo put up 28 points in the first half en route to a 35-21 win over Fargo Shanley on Thursday in Class AA Eastern Dakota Conference football.
Packers running back Parker Nelson ran for 193 yards and three touchdowns on 35 attempts. Quarterback Peyton Jantzi completed 6 of 13 passes for 137 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Carson Hegerle hauled in four catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Jantzi connected with Jaden Grefsrud for a 29-yard TD.
Cole Tiedeman led the Packers defense with 10.5 total tackles (six solo) and an interception. Aaron Magnell tallied six solo tackles and an interception.
Shanley's Aidan DeVine carried 22 times for 136 yards and two TDs. Michael Rostberg was 18-for-32 passing for 164 yards and one touchdown and one interception. The Deacons' John Gores had eight receptions for 82 yards and Isaac Emineth hauled in a receiving touchdown.
West Fargo ended the regular season at 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the EDC. Shanley capped the regular season with a 5-4 overall record and 1-2 EDC mark.
