Moorhead boys Nordic ski team records three top 17 finishes at Section 8A meet

The Spuds girls team has two skiers finish in top 13 at Maplelag Resort course.

CALLAWAY, Minn. — Moorhead's Zaine Braaten placed second in the boys race and the Spuds' Kennedy Olson placed sixth in the girls race at the Section 8A meet on Tuesday at Maplelag Resort.
Braaten finished in 14 minutes, 46.2 seconds, about six seconds behind winner Connor Grant of Little Falls.
Braaten was one of three Moorhead skiers placing in the top 17. Max Rogers placed ninth in 15:59.9 and Trygve Rux was 17th in 16:51.1.
Olson finished in 18:27.7. Liliana Schaefer of Brainerd won in 17:21.3. The Spuds' Ava Nelson placed 13th in 18:47.4.
The meet continues Wednesday, Feb. 9, with boys and girls pursuit races at Maplelag.
