Moorhead wins Class 1A, Section 8 boys lacrosse championship

BUFFALO, Minn. — In only its second year of competing, the Moorhead boys lacrosse team clinched a berth to the state tournament.

Moorhead defeated Buffalo 11-7 on Wednesday night in the Class 1A, Section 8 championship. Kenny Bohney scored five second-half goals to lead the Spuds.

Cody Martinson led Moorhead's charge in the first half with three goals. Buffalo held a 5-4 advantage at the break. Jackson Score pulled the Spuds even in the third quarter and Bohney buried his first goal to put Moorhead out front for good.

Seeds are yet to be announced for the Minnesota state boys lacrosse tournament, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 15, in Stillwater.
