FARGO — There will be one last hoorah for North Dakota high school senior basketball players when the 46th annual Lions All-Star Basketball series commences in both Bismarck and Fargo next week.

The best of the best in boys and girls Class A basketball will take on the cream of the crop from Class B in a series of games to be played July 11-12.

Players from the boys teams will report to Fargo Davies High School on July 8 for a kickoff luncheon and practice in the days after. The girls teams will do the same, reporting to Legacy High School in Bismarck.

The first set of games will take place on July 11 at Legacy High, with the girls Class A and Class B squads squaring off at 6 p.m. before the boys teams follow with their game at 8. The series will shift eastward to Fargo the next night with games again occurring at 6 and 8 p.m.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
