FARGO — Fargo Oak Grove forward Treyton Hatfield was recognized as the top senior player in Region 1 and now one of the top players in North Dakota Class B boys basketball.

The 6-foot-5 Hatfield was a second-team, all-state selection as voted on by the state's sportscasters and sportswriters.

“The biggest thing is for his first couple years he liked to shoot the (3-pointer) a little bit more and then he just developed the game and the way he could attack the basket and finish," said Oak Grove head coach Kyle Card. “He really, really developed his offensive game and defensively.”

Four Winds-Minnewauken forward Deng Deng, North Border forward Ayden Stainbrook, Flasher guard Javin Friesz, Bowman County guard Bohden Duffield and Powers Lake-Burke Central guard Tyson Enget were named to the first team.

Hatfield averaged 26.7 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game in his final season with the Grovers. He was a two-year starter on varsity.

"His willingness to go in the paint was a big step for him," Card said.

Enderlin forward Carson Bartholomay joined Hatfield on the 10-player second team. The 6-foot-6 Bartholomay averaged 26 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in his final season with the Eagles.

“He had to change his role to our main scorer and he did that very, very well," said Enderlin head coach Calvin Kraft. “He had to take that next step to be our guy offensively.”

Bartholomay was a four-year, full-time varsity starter for Enderlin and finished his career with 1,336 points. He scored a program-record 52 points in a game during this past season.

“His skill level is high," Kraft said. "He’s always been skilled enough to shoot it like that and score it like that.”
