Fargo North won the Class A boys state title, while Grand Forks Red River earned the Class A girls championship

FARGO — The Fargo North boys and Grand Forks Red River girls both made basketball program history Saturday night at Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex with championship performances.

The North earned a 92-83 victory against Red River to earn the North Dakota Class A boys state championship, the Spartans first state crown since 2006.

Earlier in the evening, Red River scored a 61-48 victory against Bismarck Century for the Class A girls championship, the program's first state title since 1988.

Red River point guard Jocelyn Schiller scored 34 points to set a Class A girls championship game record. Schiller was named the tournament's most valuable player. Roughriders guard Cassidy O'Halloran joined Schiller on the all-tournament team.

Jeremiah Sem scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the North boys to victory in the title game. Sem was named the boys tournament MVP. North guard Matthew Sem and forward Carter Zeller joined Jeremiah Sem on the boys all-tournament team.
