BISMARCK — Bismarck Century continued its reign as the top program in North Dakota Class A state girls basketball, earning a 58-47 victory against Fargo Davies to win the state championship Sunday. March 14, at the Bismarck Event Center. Meanwhile, the West Fargo Packers ended a boys title drought that lasted nearly three decades.
The Patriots (25-0) capped a perfect season, winning their third state crown in the past four seasons. Davies (24-3) was playing in its first girl state title game in program history. The Eagles had their six-game winning streak snapped against Century.
West Fargo held off the Minot Magicians and earned a 65-50 victory to claim the boys state championship. The Packers (22-3) knocked off West Fargo Sheyenne, the East Region's top seed, in the semifinals. Minot (23-2) was the top seed from the West Region. West Fargo earned its first state championship since 1992.
