FARGO — Velva-Drake-Anamoose-Garrison had a late goal-line stand to earn a 22-20 victory against Central Cass on Friday for the North Dakota Class 11B state football championship at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
The Aggies stuffed the Squirrels on a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line with less than 90 seconds to play in the fourth quarter.
New Salem-Almont rallied for a 28-26 overtime victory against Cavalier for the Class 9B championship. Jamestown scored 32 points in the first half to fuel a 46-28 victory against Fargo North for the Class 11A state championship. Fargo Shanley scored 35 points in the first half and cruised to a 48-7 victory against Bismarck Century for the Class 11AA championship.
