FARGO — Fargo Shanley senior quarterback Michael Rosterberg had a big night to lead the No. 3-ranked Deacons to a 41-35 victory against the No. 4-ranked West Fargo Packers on Friday in North Dakota Class 11AA football at Sid Cichy Stadium.

The Deacons (2-0, 1-0 EDC) scored the game's first 20 points before the Packers (1-1, 0-1) battled back to take a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Shanley scored 21 points in the final quarter to outlast West Fargo.

In Class 11B action, Oakes scored 50 points in the first half to power to a 50-14 victory against Fargo Oak Grove in a game that was played in West Fargo.
