BISMARCK — The North Dakota Class B boys state basketball tournament started Thursday at the Bismarck Event Center.

The tournament is the final Class B tournament before the state moves to three basketball classes next season.

No. 2-seeded Bismarck Shiloh Christian cruised to a 69-38 victory against Powers Lake-Burke Central in first quarterfinal. Kyler Klein and Isaac Emmel paced Shiloh Christian with 14 points each. Kyle Huseby led the Ranchers with 11 points

No. 3-seeded Beulah earned a 48-31 victory against Medina-Pingree-Buchanan in the second quarterfinal. Braylen Schirado paced the Miners with 12 points. Shiloh Christian is set to play Beulah at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals.

No. 1 seed Central Cass rallied past Warwick in the fourth quarter for a 58-46 victory in the quarterfinals. Cole Holzer had 16 points, 19 rebounds and five assists to lead the Squirrels. Central Cass outscored Warwick 20-3 in the fourth quarter.

Des Lacs-Burlington scored a 55-48 victory against Thompson in the final game of the first round. Carson Yale paced the Lakers with 14 points and 11 rebounds. DL-B plays Central Cass at 8:15 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals.
