BRAINERD — Moorhead placed third and four Spuds swimmers will compete in the Minnesota State Swimming and Diving Championships this weekend following their performances at the Section 8AA meet on Saturday.
The Spuds scored 336 points and trailed only Brainerd (373) and Sartell (350).
The Spuds' 200-yard medley relay team of Ava Rodgers, Abbie Ishaug, Alayna Janke and Arianna Hoff set team and Brainerd pool records with a 1 minute, 47.32 seconds.
Hoff set a pool record with a 1:53.98 in the 200 freestyle and Janke also earned a state spot finishing in 1:56.87. Janke also set a pool record with a 57.84 finish in the 100 butterfly.
In the 100 freestyle, Hoff set team and pool records with a 52.79 and Ishaug also qualified for state finishing in 53.37. Ishaug also set a Spuds team record with a 1:06.63 in the 100 breaststroke.

Moorhead's 400 freestyle relay team set a pool record with a 3:37.34.
The state meet is Nov. 16-18 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
