Prep volleyball: Breckenridge downs Park Christian in section tournament

Park Christian's Mia Metzger tallied a double-double with 22 assists, 23 digs and two aces.

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. — North No. 1 seed Breckenridge topped North No. 8 seed Moorhead Park Christian in four sets, 25-13, 24-26, 25-23, 25-16, on Wednesday in the second round of the Minnesota Section 6A volleyball tournament.

Brooklyn Fuchs had nine kills for Park Christian. Mia Metzger tallied a double-double with 22 assists, 23 digs and two aces. Avery Aakre led the Falcons in digs with 31. Ruth Harris had four kills and 23 digs, and Belle Suckert recorded seven kills and four blocks. Andie Sandman added four kills and 14 digs, and Mary Hilbrands had 19 digs.

Breckenridge will host No. 5 seed Lake Park-Audubon at 7 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals.
