FARGO — Fargo Davies head volleyball coach Carolyn Olson has resigned her coaching and teaching positions and will next work with the Special Olympics program in Grand Forks.

Davies led the Davies program the last four seasons and guided the Eagles to a 2019 state championship.

“Carolyn is one of the best coaches in the game of volleyball and we appreciate all she has done for Davies volleyball and our (physical education) department," said Davies activities director Lenny Ohlhauser.

Ohlhauser stated the search for a new head coach will commence soon.

"I have enjoyed the opportunity to lead this program for the past four years," Olson said. "I will take many joyous memories with me. The coaches, athletes, athletic trainers, parents, and administration have been wonderful to work with. I know I am a better coach and person for having worked at Davies.”

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
