Red River girls basketball clinches the Class A State Title for the first time in 35 years

RED RIVER OUTLASTS CENTURY TO BECOME THE GIRLS CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONS

FARGO — Red River and Century faced off in the girls Class A state title game. The Roughriders went on a run in the first half. Cassidy O'Halloran beyond the arc banks in the three to give them a 15-point lead. The Patriots pushed back in the second half. Logan Nissley, from the corner, hit nothing but net to bring Century within six. Red river responded on the next drive. Ella Speidel, from the foul line, added two more to the lead. They stayed ahead as Red River took home the championship 61- 48, for the first time in 35 years.

SEM BROTHERS BOTH GIVE CHAMPIONSHIP EFFORTS EN ROUTE TO STATE TITLE

FARGO — Red River and Fargo North both looking to win a title for the first time in more than a decade and a half.
The final game of the season was full of fireworks, Jeremiah Sem capped off a 20 point first half with a monster dunk. North led by 14 at the break. Red River scratched and clawed the entire tournament, and tonight was no different. Coming back and tying it up after being down double digits, Zachary Kraft with the clutch three in the middle of the second half. With 20 seconds left, North found themselves ahead nine points. Just like big Brother Jeremiah, Matthew Sem put the icing on the championship cake with a two handed dunk. Fargo North wins 92-83 and are the Class A State Champions for the first time since 2006.
