MANDAN — Minot was too much offensively for West Fargo in a 4-0 victory in the opening match of the NDHSAA Girls State Soccer Tournament on Thursday at the Starion Sports Complex.
The Maji outshot the Packers 16-2 and advanced to Friday's state semifinals.
Minot's Emerson Perrin opened the scoring at 11:05 on an assist from Jasmyn Mitchner. MaLiah Blake made it 2-0 with a goal at 16:43 on an assist from Maicee Burke.
At 52:37, Minot made it 3-0 on a West Fargo own goal, and Perrin scored her second of the game unassisted at 77:43.
Minot goalkeeper Madison Elliott stopped two shots and West Fargo keeper Amber Pyle made 12 stops.
