West Fargo 56, Moorhead 49

MOORHEAD — The Packers stifled Moorhead in the first half to help spark a nonconference win over in their season-opener.

West Fargo led 31-17 at the half.

Brett Limke scored 21 points to lead the Packers. Carson Hegerle followed with 11 points and Nick Carlson poured in 10. Parker Nelson added nine points and six steals. Limke, Hegerle and Carlson each recorded three steals.

Adam Jenkins paced the Spuds with 16 points. Mekhi Elmore added 12 points and Elliot Hoff scored eight.

West Fargo improved to 1-0 overall, while Moorhead fell to 0-2.

Fargo Davies 86, Fargo Shanley 58

FARGO — Davies rolled to a season-opening win over Shanley in Eastern Dakota Conference action.

Four Eagles scored double-digit points, led by Ian Motschenbacher’s 18. Motschenbacher contributed across the board, tacking on seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. Mason Klabo had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds with three assists. Raymond Brown had 16 points and four rebounds, and Daniel Yorke scored 10 points with two steals.

Connor Kraft tallied 17 points and 11 boards to pace Shanley. Jack Pollert followed with 15 points and four rebounds.

Davies held Shanley to 31% (21 of 66) shooting.

The Eagles rose to 1-0 both overall and in the EDC. Shanley dropped to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

WF Sheyenne 87, Wahpeton 46

WAHPETON, N.D. — West Fargo Sheyenne rolled to an EDC victory over Wahpeton.

Michael Nhial scored 19 points to lead the Mustangs. Kaleb Larson poured in 15 points with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Matt Gooselaw scored 10 points and Caleb Duerr added nine. Trent Freih tallied eight points and two steals.

Blake Shafer paced the Huskies with 13 points. Caden Hockert finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Sheyenne rose to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the EDC. Wahpeton fell to 0-1 both overall and in the conference.

Fargo South 64, GF Central 62

FARGO — South edged Grand Forks Central in EDC action to open its season.

Diamond McGill scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Bruins. James Hamilton dropped 14 points and grabbed nine boards, while Will Lacher scored 11 points.

Erick Paye scored 25 points and brought down 14 rebounds to lead GFC. Ross Wilber added 11 points and Jack Simmers scored 11.

South rose to 1-0 both overall and in the EFC. The Knights fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the EDC.

Fargo North 83, GF Red River 72

FARGO — Fargo North posted its second win of the season and first in the EDC on Tuesday.

The Spartans’ Carter Zeller finished with a double-double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Isaac Cody scored 19 points and Jalen May had 18 points.

Red River’s Reis Rowekamp scored 23 points and Pearce Parks scored 11.

North is 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the EDC while Red River lost its season and EDC opener.
