SHILOH CHRISTIAN SURVIVES OVERTIME TO PUNCH THEIR TICKET TO THE CLASS B STATE TITLE GAME

BISMARCK — Shiloh Christian and Beulah battled in the first semifinal of the night in the class B state tournament. In the fourth quarter with six minutes left, Kyler Klein was wide open for the three to give Shiloh a ten-point lead. But, Beulah wouldn't go down without a fight. Braylen Schirado with 13 seconds left hit the clutch shot to send the game into overtime. 52 seconds left in the extra minutes, Joseph Wanzek got the rebound and put it back in to take the lead. Beulah couldn't get any closer. Shiloh Christian wins 65-61 and will advance to the state title game for the first time since 2019.

CENTRAL CASS OUTLASTS DES LACS-BURLINGTON TO FACE SHILOH CHRISTIAN IN THE CLASS B STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

BISMARCK — Central Cass looked to protect their perfect record in the semifinal game against Des Lacs-Burlington. Late in the first quarter, Des Lacs was up by eight, and Jacob Schaefer made it double digits with the corner three. Central Cass came back in the second half. Squirrels up by one when Cole Holzer hit a wide open triple of his own to extend the lead. With six and a half minutes left, it was a one possession game and Sam Kobbervig gathered up the ball and drained the clutch jumper to seal the deal for the Squirrels. Central Cass wins 64-57 and are in the championship game for the firs time since 1968.

OWEN LEACH POWERS D-G-F INTO THE CLASS AA STATE TOURNAMENT

DETROIT LAKES — D-G-F and Thief River Falls went head to head for the section 8AA final. In the first half, D-G-F built up a comfortable lead, and U-M Duluth commit Owen Leach added to it with the triple. Thief River Falls fought hard all second half to catch up. Jack Manning worked under the basket and tied it up. This game went into overtime. In the extra minutes, D-G-F down one and it’s Leach once again from beyond the arc. He finished with 50 points on the night. D-G-F won 77-67 and is headed to state for the first time since 2006.

MOORHEAD BOYS BASKETBALL DROPS THE SECTION TITLE GAME TO BUFFALO

SARTELL — Moorhead boys basketball was in action tonight, battling for the section 8AAAA title against Buffalo. In the second half, the Spuds tried to mount a come back. Colton Hagen hit the three to shrink the Bison’s gap. Moorhead kept on pressing. Hagen got the basket and the foul for the three-point play to come within eight. But, Buffalo took the game back. Tony Dahl gathered the rebound and finished the reverse lay-up for two. Moorhead fell to Buffalo 82-62, bringing the Spuds’ season to a close.
