CENTRAL CASS BOYS BASKETBALL PROTECTS THEIR PERFECT RECORD AGAINST WARWICK IN THE CLASS B STATE QUARTERFINALS

BISMARCK — Warwick back in "the B" after 25 years. It’s been 21 years for the unbeaten Central Cass Squirrels. This one was a back and forth game. In the 3rd quarter, Warwick looked to take the lead. Elijah Feather Jr. took the corner three, and he got it. In the 4th quarter, it was knotted up once again. Central Cass made a break toward the basket, and Cole Hauser got the bucket and the foul for the three-point play. 95 seconds left in the game, Squirrels tried to put it away, and Eli Buhr all alone hit the big time shot to ice the game. Central Cass stays unbeaten and advances to the semifinals with the 58-46 win against Warwick.

DES LACS-BURLINGTON BOYS BASKETBALL KNOCKS OFF THOMPSON TO ADVANCE TO THE SEMIFINALS

BISMARCK – Des Lacs-Burlington and Thompson wrapped up the Class B state quarterfinal round. First quarter, Des Lacs-Burlington was on a run. Leading by three, Carson Yale tacked on three more with the contested jumper to extend their lead. In the second quarter, Thompson was down double digits, but Thomas Schumacher was wide open and drained the three to cut into the lead. In the fourth quarter, Lakers had the five-point lead, and Yale put up the impossible shot, and somehow it went in. Des Lacs-Burlington beat Thompson 55-48 and will face Central Cass in the semifinals tomorrow night.

SHILOH CHRISTIAN BOYS BASKETBALL POWERS PAST THE RANCHERS 

BISMARCK — Powers Lake-Burke Central and Shiloh Christian opened up the Class B state quarterfinals. Starting in the second quarter, Shiloh Christian up by 13. Isaac Emmel made it 16 points with the three-point jumper. The Skyhawks ran away with the game. Fourth quarter, up by nearly 30, Wyatt Westin made it 31 with the open triple. Shiloh Christian moves on to the semifinals tomorrow night, beating Powers Lake-Burke Central 69-38.

BEULAH BOYS BASKETBALL DOMINATE THE SECOND HALF TO BEAT MEDINA-PINGREE/BUCHANAN

BISMARCK — Medina-Pingree/Buchanan and Beulah went head to head in the Class B state quarterfinals. The winner will face Shiloh Christian. Just seconds before half time, Beulah was down five points, but Trace Beauchamp from the top of the key sank the three to close the gap. It was all Miners in the second half. Aidan O'Brien floated the ball to Beauchamp who collected and finished with the lay-in. Beulah advances to the semifinals 48-31.
