SOUTH STORMS BACK TO UPSET NORTH IN RIVALRY GAME
FARGO — After losing to Fargo North for the first time in 10 years last season, No. 4 Fargo South scored 17 unanswered to knock off the second-ranked Spartans. North rattled off 14 points in the first quarter, including a touchdown pass from Ethan Welk to Jeremiah Sem, but South answered back to make it 14-10 at the half.

In the third quarter, Damarion Samenko gave the Bruins their first lead 17-14. The defense held on for the win. South hosts the top team from 11AA Davies, while North stays in town for a showdown with Red River on WDAY Sports+.

BARNESVILLE DOMINATES GROUND GAME IN WIN OVER OSAKIS

BARNESVILLE- One year after the three overtime melee between the Trojans and the Silverstreaks, they meet again this time in Barnesville. Trojans start the game strong with an opening kickoff return touchdown by Ethan Larson. The scoring wouldn't stop in the first quarter for Barnesville. Their second play from scrimmage, John Roller found space for a 51-yard touchdown. Trojans capped off the first with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Zach Bredman to brother Braeden Bredman to make it 22-0 after one.

Osakis controlled the second quarter, posting their first score of the game with a 1-yard touchdown run from Tyson Hagedon. Barnesville rolls from their cruising to a 51-8 win to move to 4-0. Barnesville stays at home next week against Pillager.

TOP-RANKED DAVIES KEEPS MINOT FROM WORKING ITS UPSET MAGIC

The last time Minot faced a team ranked number one they pulled off the upset against Mandan 35-26. New top-ranked Davies looked to avoid the same fate.

Scoreless in the 1st quarter, Luke Lorenz scored from 5 yards out to put the Eagles up 6-0.

Mason Klabo found Keaton Schwab in the 3rd quarter on a pretty corner throw for an 18-yard touchdown.

Later on in the 3rd quarter, Elijah Hayes ran hard, knocking over would-be tacklers for a 20-yard touchdown.

Davies rolls over Minot 34-7.

The Eagles travel to Fargo South next week, while Minot hosts Sheyenne next week.

SHEYENNE ROLLS IN GRAND FORKS

GRAND FORKS- A ranked showdown between #2 in Class 11AA West Fargo Sheyenne and #3 Class 11A Grand Forks Red River. The Mustangs started hot with an opening kickoff return touchdown from Race Wilson to make it 7-0 early. It was all Mustangs from there rolling the Roughriders 34-0 on their home turf.

West Fargo Sheyenne takes the bus to Minot next week. Red River comes to Fargo North for our WDAY Game of the Week on WDAY Sports Plus.

WEST FARGO SENDS BISMARCK PACKING WITH CONVINCING WIN

West Fargo looked to bounce back from a three-game losing streak, with the winless Bismarck Demons in town.

The Packer’s first drive saw Cole Tiedeman find Payton McGregor for an over the shoulder 35 yard falling catch.

Three plays later in the drive Tiedeman kept it himself for a 15 yard touchdown run. Packers lead 7-0.

Later in the first quarter, Tiedeman found McGregor for a quick slant that led to a 71 yard touchdown catch and run..

West Fargo beats Bismark 31-14, going into their bye week.

SHANLEY OFFENSE DOES JUST ENOUGH TO BEAT CENTURY

FARGO — Fourth-ranked Shanley was looking to bounce back after their first loss of the season to Sheyenne last week. They got some help from their defense in the first quarter when Jordan Leininger intercepted Kyan Barth to set up a scoring drive. Adam Leininger punched it in from two-yards out.

The Deacons needed just one more touchdown for a 14-7 win. Shanley heads west to face Legacy next week.

MOORHEAD DEFENSE PROPELS SPUDS TO WIN OVER ALEXANDRIA

MOORHEAD — After last season's last-minute playoff loss to Alexandria, Moorhead was hungry for revenge - and got it with a 34-14 win. The Cardinals struck first in the opening quarter with a punt-return touchdown for Kelly Johnson. The Spuds answered right back with a Karson Wendt touchdown scamper to tie the game 7-7.

Later, Reign Battle intercepted Alexandria's Chase Thompson and ran it back for a pick six to give Moorhead a 14-7 lead. Moorhead hosts Sartell-St. Stephen next week, looking to improve to 3-1.

D-G-F STORMS BACK IN EAST GRAND FORKS

EAST GRAND FORKS — Undefeated Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton travels to East Grand Forks to try and stay perfect. EGF got on the board first with a Drew Carpenter keeper in the first. D-G-F would come back from there with Jordan Summers scoring from 2-yards out. The Rebels wouldn't look back from there cruising to a 22-12 win to stay undefeated.

D-G-F returns home next week against Park River. The Green Wave stays at home against Thief River Falls.
