West Fargo Sheyenne names Tim Brandt as new head boys basketball coach
Brandt has served as an assistant coach for the Mustangs varsity program and head coach of the Sheyenne JV program since the team's inception nine years ago
WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Sheyenne High School activities department announced on Thursday that Tim Brandt was named as the next Mustangs head boys basketball coach.
Brandt replaces Tom Kirchoffner, who announced his resignation in late April after being at the helm since the beginning of the program.
Brandt has served as an assistant coach for the Mustangs varsity program and head coach of the Sheyenne JV program since the team's inception nine years ago. The Mustangs JV program posted a record of 141-26 under Brandt's leadership.
Brandt has dual bachelor’s degrees in corporate fitness and physical education from Minot State University. He earned his master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Central Missouri and has his administrator’s credential in North Dakota. In addition to coaching, he is employed by West Fargo Public Schools as a physical education teacher.
“I am very fortunate and excited to be named the next head boys basketball coach at Sheyenne High School," Brandt said in a press release. "Over the last nine years, Sheyenne has become my home. I’m so proud of what this program has become, and I look forward to continuing our tradition of success. To say I am extremely grateful for the opportunity would be an understatement.”
