Zaine Braaten earns all-state honors to lead Spuds at state Nordic skiing meet

BIWABIK, Minn. — Zaine Braaten became the first boy in Moorhead Nordic skiing history to earn all-state honors on Thursday at the Minnesota high school state tournament at Giants Ridge.

Braaten placed 21st in the pursuit with a time of 30 minutes, 46.5 seconds to earn all-state honors.

Moorhead's Jamie Raske and Siri Overturf finished 17th in the girls sprint relay in 19:25.92. Max Rogers placed 66th in the boys pursuit (33:02.8) and Kennedy Olson was 85th in the girls pursuit in 41:25.4.

Minneapolis Southwest won the boys team title with 389 points. St. Paul Highland Park clinched the girls championship with 371 points.
