Kelly's 3-hit night leads RedHawks past Cougars

Starting catcher drove in a game-high four runs, helping Fargo-Moorhead snap a two-game skid

GENEVA, Ill. — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks rallied from a four-run deficit, securing a 9-6 victory over the Kane County Cougars in American Association baseball Wednesday night at Northwestern Medicine Field before 2,427 fans.

Following a three-run third inning, the Cougars held a 5-1 lead. F-M responded with three runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take the lead. Dylan Kelly went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double to go along with four RBIs to lead the RedHawks. Kevin Krause added two hits and two RBIs, while Nick Novak drove in another pair of runs.

Ryan Flores (4-2) got another win from the mound for F-M. The 28-year-old allowed five runs off six hits through five innings.

Gavin LaValley's three hits paced Kane County (28-30), but the team was unable to translate its 11 hits into more runs.

The RedHawks (33-26) conclude their series with the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
