RedHawks fall victim to solid Chicago pitching

Three Chicago pitchers put clamps on Fargo-Moorhead in final game of a three-game set in Fargo.

FARGO — Three Chicago Dogs pitchers limited the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to five hits in a 5-1 win on Thursday at Newman Outdoor Field.

Chicago starter Garrett Christman went six and got the win. He allowed a run on four hits, walked two and struck out three. Reliever Juan Echevarria worked a scoreless seventh and Kevin Marnon was perfect over the final two, striking out five.

F-M's Nick Shumpert had two hits, including a double, and scored the RedHawks' run. Manuel Boscan had a hit and an RBI.

The RedHawks are 5-4 in the North Division, tied with the Dogs in third place. F-M opens a home set against Houston at 7:05 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Newman.
