OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Fargo-Moorhead won its third-straight game and ninth in its last 10 games on Tuesday, and the RedHawks needed only half the usual innings to get that done.

The RedHawks leveled Lake Country with a seven-run fourth inning, erasing a two-run deficit and defeating the DockHounds 13-5 in a game called after five innings because of lightning and rain.

RedHawks starter Kevin McGovern got the win, the 56th of his nine-year career, to break the American Association's career wins mark. He broke a record he shared with Sioux Falls' Ben Moore. McGovern now owns the AA's career records for wins, innings pitched (839) and strikeouts (753).

Fargo-Moorhead's Evan Alexander hit a solo home run in the second and back-to-back-to-back two-out doubles from Manny Boscan, Drew Ward and Leo Pina brought in two more runs in the third.

But the DockHounds scored three runs in the bottom of the third and led 5-3 heading into the fourth. Then they fell apart.

The RedHawks scored seven on Alexander's two-run single, Rymer Liriano's RBI single, two bases-loaded walks, a bases-loaded hit batter and a bases-loaded groundout.

F-M's Christian Correa cemented the win with a bases-clearing single in the fifth. Correa was 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Alexander had two hits and drove in three runs.

Pina doubled twice and drove in two, Liriano had two hits and drove in a run, and Boscan, Ward and Sam Dexter all had a hit and an RBI.

Kevin McGovern went all five for the win. He allowed five runs on eight hits, walked one and struck out three.

The RedHawks are 25-10 and lead the West Division. They play the third of four games against the DockHounds at 6:35 p.m., June 22, at Wisconsin Brewing Co. Park.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
