GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Red River skated to a 2-0 shutout victory over Fargo Davies in Eastern Dakota Conference boys hockey Thursday at Eagles Arena.
Morgan Hoefs struck first for the Roughriders in the second period. He then assisted on Zach Hinschberger's third-period goal to give Red River a 2-0 advantage that would stick until the final horn.
Davies had a 25-12 advantage in shots on goal, but was unable to capitalize, as Noah Burger tallied the shutout for Red River (6-3-1, 5-2 EDC).
Goalie Trent Wiemken made 10 saves for the Eagles (7-3, 5-3).
