The Red River boys golf team is playing the waiting game for winter to move on and for their season to start. They're inside classrooms learning the rules of golf and hopping around different simulators in town just to get swings in. Their first meet may come before their first practice.
FARGO— The Class A boys and girls state basketball tournament getting underway on Thursday in Bismarck. Two-time defending state champions, Century defeated Wahpeton in record breaking fashion, winning 101-51 in the first girls quarterfinals game.
For the fifth straight year, Red River has qualified for the Class A Girl’s State Basketball Tournament. Unlike the other seasons though, the Rough Riders are a much younger team led by a sensational sophomore, who is gaining state wide attention.
The Roughriders used three power play goals to reach the state championship for the third year in a row with a 3-1 win over the Bruins on Friday at Scheels Arena.
