DES MOINES, Iowa - North Dakota State freshman Sierra Rosenau placed ninth in the junior women's javelin Friday at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium.

Rosenau, from Carrington, N.D., had a best throw of 141 feet, 4 inches. She was one place shy of advancing to the finals in the event.

The junior championships are limited to athletes who do not turn 20 years old until 2014.

Bison freshman Katelyn Weimerskirch is set to compete in the junior women's discus at 12:45 p.m. today.
