GRANVILLE, Australia - World of Outlaws sprint car star Donny Schatz, of Horace, N.D., won the Sprintcar International race late Saturday night after a passing Joey Saldana on the final turn at Parramatta City Raceway.
Schatz, who captured a $50,000 prize with the win, swapped the lead with Saldana five times during the 40-lap race and was in second place until the last-second pass.
Schatz will return to Australia later this month to kick off his 10th World of Outlaws season with the Outlaws Down Under races Jan. 19-21.
The World of Outlaws will be in West Fargo at Red River Valley Speedway from June 16-18 for the annual Duel in the Dakotas event.
